Authorization Holds: Any order, or attempted order, placed using a credit card will reflect an authorization hold. While this hold appears to be a deduction from your available funds that is equal to the dollar amount of the order, the money is still in your account. This authorization hold is simply to ensure the funds are available to complete your order. Sales Tax

All goods and services sold or provided in Canada are subject to Canadian Goods and Services Tax ("GST") at 5% including items, shipping, and special handling. The general GST rate was decreased from 6% to 5% as of January 1, 2008.

In addition, the following Provincial Sales Tax ("PST") or Harmonized Sales Tax ("HST") might apply, depending on the item and the destination of the shipment:

The amount of sales tax charged to an order varies depending on the province the item(s) will be shipped to and local sales tax laws. You will be able to see the sales tax amount before submitting your order.

Tax is calculated on the total selling price of each individual item and any shipping/handling in accordance with applicable tax laws.

Groups eligible for GST exemption should file a GST rebate claim with Revenue Canada.

Redeeming Promotions/Discount Codes

To redeem a Promotion or Discount Code:

  1. Enter the code exactly as it appears (codes are case sensitive) in the space provided in your Shopping Cart or on the Payment page during Checkout.
  2. Click "Apply" after each one.
  3. If your code is accepted, the code will display with a "Status: Applied" message. If codes are applied to your order, the discount amount will be displayed in the payment summary. You can decide to add or delete a promotion, and your payment summary will refresh accordingly.
  4. If your code is not accepted, the code will display with a "Status: Not Applied" message. Please note: adding multiple promotion codes may void promotions that have already been applied.

Redeeming a Gift Card

To redeem a Toys"R"Us/Babies"R"Us gift card online:

  1. Go to or and select the items you want to purchase.
  2. When you are ready to checkout, click "Shopping Cart."
  3. Proceed through the checkout.
  4. Enter your gift card number from the card on the Payment Page and click "Apply Gift Cards." When making a purchase online you may redeem up to five Gift Cards per order.
  5. After you have applied one or more Gift Cards to your order, you will be asked to enter your credit card information. For verification purposes, Gift Cards must always be used in combination with a credit card. If the value of your order is equal or less than the value of your Gift Card, no amount will be charged to your credit card, and the balance amount will be stored on your Gift Card for future use.
  6. If the value of your order is greater than the value of your Gift Card, we will charge the balance of the order to your credit card at the time of shipment.

You may use eligible promotional codes when placing an order that can be paid for with "R"Us Gift Cards.

Please make sure you hold on to all Gift Cards used in your purchase until your order arrives. If your order cannot be fulfilled or you need to return any items, it may be necessary to grant credit back to these cards.

Rules and Regulations for Gift Cards:

  • Gift Cards cannot be redeemed for cash or returned for a refund.
  • A maximum of five Gift Cards may be applied to an order.
  • Gift Cards may be applied toward the price, shipping, and tax charges for eligible items.
  • Paper gift certificates that were purchased in Toys"R"Us stores may not be applied to online orders.

Gift Card Balance

Checking your "R" Us Gift Card balance is easy. Simply follow these steps:

  1. Click on the "My Account" link located on the top of each page
  2. Enter your email address and password if you are a returning customer.
  3. If you are a new customer, enter your email address and create a password.
  4. Select "Check Gift Card Balance" located under Account Features.
  5. Enter the Gift Card number and click on the "Check Balance" button.

You can also check the balance remaining on your Gift Card by calling the Customer Service Group at 1-866-345-5656 or by visiting any Toys"R"Us/Babies"R"Us retail store. When you call, be sure to have your Gift Card number in front of you.
